Our Campus Plan
Renewing the place where St. Luke's gathers, serves, and grows — our 1887 Church, our Parish Hall, and the grounds that hold our common life.
THE VISION
Caring for This Place, for the Next Hundred Years
For more than a century, St. Luke's has worshiped on this corner in downtown Auburn. Our historic 1887 Church, our Parish Hall, and our grounds have shaped generations of faith.
After years of small repairs, our Vestry set out to ask a bigger question: what would it look like to care for this campus not just for today, but for the generations to come? What follows is where that question has led us — a plan shaped by prayer, by your voices, and by faithful, step-by-step stewardship.
OUR APPROACH
A Three Stage Plan
Rather than everything at once, the Vestry chose to move in stages — caring for the most sacred and urgent needs first.
STAGE I
The Church
Full restoration and repainting of the 1887 Church — new deck, repaired exterior, oiled interior, and a new bell rope — completed in 2025 thanks to a generous gift.

STAGE II
The Church Parish Hall
Reimagining the Parish Hall into welcoming, accessible, ministry-ready space — with new offices, gathering areas, a children's chapel, and an elevator.
UNDERWAY
STAGE III
The Victorian House
After careful assessment, restoring the aging Victorian proved cost-prohibitive. This stage has been folded into Stage II so resources focus where they matter most.

HOW WE GOT HERE
It Began With a Conversation
In Lent of 2024, on Rose Sunday, we gathered over a potluck and asked the whole congregation to share their hopes, concerns, and dreams for St. Luke's. Eight clear needs rose to the top — and every one helped shape the plan you see here.

A Closer Look
The reimagined Parish Hall on two levels — designed around the needs you shared, with accessibility at its heart.
Accessibility at the heart of the plan. After listening in our Fireside Chats, the design now includes a new elevator serving both levels, ADA parking, and a connecting bridge to the Church — so everyone can move through our campus with ease. Full-size blueprints are on display in the Parish Hall.

We are moving forward prayerfully and prudently — caring for urgent needs today while preparing the way for what's ahead.
RECENTLY COMPLETED
Groundwork & Repairs
Parking lot and retaining wall repaired with reserve funds, aging playground equipment removed and donated, and a new Parish Hall roof installed to carry the coming solar array.
COMING THIS FALL
Solar Array
A new solar system will be installed in September 2026, moving us toward energy independence and long-term savings — and qualifying us for available rebates.
RECENTLY COMPLETED
The Church, Restored
Stage I is finished — the 1887 Church is fully restored and repainted, ready to serve for generations to come.
COMING THIS FALL
Feasibility Study
Beginning September 2026, a parish-wide feasibility study led by consultant Leslie Pendleton will help us discern how, and when, to bring Stage II to life.
