Our Story
The first Episcopal community officially gathered in Auburn, CA, in 1861. In 1887, St. Luke's Church was built on the corner of Orange and Lewis streets, and we have been a continuous Christian witness and worshipping presence in Auburn ever since. In 2027, St. Luke's will celebrate 140 years of faithful ministry.

Mission/Vision
We are a Christ-centered community rooted in the power and beauty of Scripture, the Sacraments, and the seasons and festivals of the Church. Shaped by the wisdom of the Anglo-Catholic movement within the Episcopal Church, we strive to embody humble orthodoxy, faithfulness to the prayerbook tradition, and loving service to our surrounding communities.

St. Luke’s is called to be an Episcopal Church rooted in the Anglo-Catholic movement and joyfully participating in the witness and mission of the worldwide Anglican Communion.
Our Values
We receive the ancient faith of the Church with confidence and joy, and our life together is sacramental and Scripture-centered. In worship, we celebrate the goodness of God with speech, song, chant, silence, vestments, flowers, and incense. In teaching, we read and pray the Scriptures together, studying them with the guidance of reason and Christian tradition.
